A canny therapist once said “Having your hair pulled out by the roots is not exactly a rest cure, but many ladies and guys have it done!”

The true answer is “Yes, it does hurt, but it’s manageable and it gets much easier as treatments are repeated at regular intervals.”   You can also take simple measures to help reduce discomfort, such as taking paracetamol before a treatment (if you are able to – see instructions that come with the paracetamol tablets, and never exceed the recommended dose).
